Guerlain Golden Bloom Holiday 2020

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] There’s something comforting about Guerlain Christmas – the quality stays the same, the theme surrounds the bee emblem and golden tones and it’s all richly luxurious. Their seasonal make up always feels like a treat. What’s particularly good about this collection, Golden Bloom, is that it all carries over nicely to other seasons – there’s never a bad time for a crystal encrusted lipstick case!

If you use the Meteorites, this limited edition pot is in 01 Harmony with an infusion of a golden pearl for illumination. Nice for darker evenings and candle glow – should such things come our way this time around. The scent is that sweet, violet hit and suddenly brought back memories of the Meteorites fragrance which I still have and evokes special times.

Is it bad that I always have to stop myself crushing the balls – it’s a bit like the bubble wrap effect.. hard not to :-). I like the idea of keeping this star struck tin to keep little odds and bods in long after the Meteorites have gone.

I have the Rouge G casing in Golden Diamond holding a limited edition golden shimmer top coat (No. 001) to be used alone or over any other colour to elevate it. There are two new shades, however, in a matte red and a rosewood pink.

If you’re gifting, this is an easy win because it’s not tone dependent .. there’s a red encrusted Rouge G case and if you’re a collector, you might be interested in the Rouge G Prestige Limited edition with a jewelled bee – yours for £250.

It’s pretty, right?! It’s designed by jeweller Lorenz Baumer.

I think it’s best to head to Escentual for the lipstick and the meteorites as they tend to make them less pricy than other sites HERE. The case is £28 and the lipstick is £23.40 compared to £23 and £26. The Meteorites are £40.50 compared to £45. They don’t seem to have the top coat though, which is £26 HERE.

Next up, the Shimmery Illuminating Powder in Golden Bee. Again, the scent is key to this Terracotta powder that’s infused with gold. It’s that lovely holiday scent that never fails to take you to blue skies and sunshine. It’s quite a deep shape to my eye and perhaps not for the super pale. Escentual doesn’t have this either but it’s £42 HERE.

So, you can see the Terracotta has a sheen aspect (the lid is in the main picture), but it also has little twinkles too that don’t easily show up in a swatch. When I tried this, I didn’t find them too much – just little glints here and there. The top coat again is a masterclass in less is more – it’s really a just sheen of gold in a lovely balmy carrier. In the background you can see the Golden Bee palette which I will give a post of its own to with swatches later in the week. Non affiliate link is HERE.
