Hada Labo Skin Care at Superdrug

[unpaid/sample] Well, this is a happy discovery given how much I love Japanese skin care. It’s billed as Japan’s No.1 Skin Care Line which, drilled down, means that their Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion was the best selling moisturiser in Japan for seven consecutive years. Given how meticulously Japanese women care for their skin, there’s nothing to argue about there. The Skin Plumping Gel (below) is also a best seller for the brand.

Hada Labo Skin Care

I’m always happy with a bit of hyaluronic in my skin care and it’s that particular ingredient that the brand is known for – in three variants. I’ve been doing some digging on hyaluronic for a different post coming up next week so I’ll have more to explain then. But for now, I can say that this serum/cream hybrid is a treat on the skin. If you like light-feeling moisturiser, it’s for you – there’s an immediate comfort feel following application and it lays down as an almost imperceptible, silky veil that gives your complexion a cushiony feel.

Hada Labo Skin Care

One of the things I really like about this is that it’s fragrance free – and it’s the sort of enticing, low impact texture that makes you want to splosh it on your face – cooling and just, well, more-ish. As a brand, Hada Labo is very keen on ‘anti’ ageing – they’re using language I wouldn’t use (because it’s not the 1960’s!) but the clue is the name – skin plumping. I didn’t see any immediate plumping effects to be honest, but then I’ve not long term tested it – but the idea is that the moisturising properties of hyaluronic will push out any skin creases. It’s really a pleasure to use – and I feel very well priced at £19.99 (50ml). The Gentle Hydrating Cleanser is a wash-off that I didn’t find particularly hydrating as such but neither was it drying – if you like to match your skin care then I have no complaints at all about it – a nice skin cleanse that does the job and possibly more suited to oily skin than dry. It’s £13.45 which again, I think is very reasonable. You can find the collection HERE.
