Talking Missing Knickers

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Believe it or not, I’ve been testing knickers from M&S. It all started when I Tweeted out that my beloved M&S boy short style undies had gone AWOL. A quick call to the press office confirmed that they had been discontinued. Several others commented on my Tweet that they were also bereft that their favourite pants had gone. The replacement style is nowhere near as good as the top section has been replaced with a flimsy bit that if you so much as breathe too hard, rolls down. Same shape, no where near same performance. Who wants to have to be continuously adjusting! The joy of the original No VPL boy shorts was that they didn’t wander OR show lines through trousers or leggings – it was just a smooth, seamless wear. It’s like your favourite lipstick being discontinued or when your most beloved chocolate bar has an ‘improvement’. It’s never the same.

So, after working my way through a fair few pairs, I’ve found a new pair that I probably wouldn’t have looked at twice because they’re just so… lacy! I should also add that I think the model in this picture has them yanked up a bit because they’re not that high on me! But, they fulfill the non-wandering brief (see what I did there..), the seamless effect, the no-roll and even give a light tummy smooth. Each to their own, of course, but I tried a pair of ‘high’ briefs and felt a bit strangled in them – even though I hate having a cold tummy (who doesn’t?), I just couldn’t reconcile with the big pants. Anyway, these come in two colours – black and an oyster shade in sizes 6 to 28 and are £8 each (in the buy 3 get 4th free offer) HERE, non affiliate HERE.

While I was getting images from the M&S site (because I’m not brave enough by a very long way to show them on self – shudders !) I spotted these mid-heel sparkly boots and straight away screen grabbed to send to a friend because aren’t they great? I know we aren’t going out much (I managed a proper out-out last night with a friend at an outdoor restaurant – it was wonderful) but these are just an instant outfit elevation to slip on if the occasion arises. I’ve had M&S boots before that I wasn’t blown away with but these have the Insolia soles that give an even weight distribution so should be quite comfy. Sizes 3 to 8 with half sizes and £39.50 HERE, non affiliate HERE. Personally, I’d wear them with dark jeans and a big jumper as readily as I’d wear them with a dress or fancy trousers. I think they’re whatever you want them to be and right now, I am ready for sparkly feet.
